My husband bought me a Viking 9 (not computerized) years ago and it runs just as well today as the day he brought it home .. since my sewing business is taking off I purchased a second one (learned they are no longer going to be carrying the mechanical only the computerized) I was able to get it for under 500.00 which was a great deal because he paid 800 way back when... and now a viking serger too .. then found out that I needed yet another serger also and was able to get one on Ebay for less than half the price BRAND NEW ... I love my vikings ..

curious what others use.

I also own 2 Vikings( Both computerized) One is about 16 years old and the other is a combo sewing/embrodiery machine> For sewing I will take the older one hands down. They just don't make them the way they used to. I also have aHuskylock serger and a Janome that I use with my quilting frame. Suejo 68

Hi there Suejo ... I bought one of the computerized sergers .. then the second I didnt since the first gave me all the info i needed .. works out great ..

I did get a computerized machine a few months back and was so excited .. but by morning I took it back and got the mechanical one like my old one .. Im very happy with it. I have heard that Janomes are good.
