Hello to all from a first time poster.

I will be making a shawl collar, princess lines fitted jacket using a solid color interlock fabric for the jacket body and a striped interlock fabric for the collar and sleeve cuffs. The jacket pattern (McCall's 4598) is designed to be lined. Do folks have suggestions as to what types of fabric could be used for the lining of a cotton interlock garment?

I really wanted to sew a jacket with a long (reaching below the bodice) wing collar in the knits with a pattern which need not be lined, but have had no success in my searches of myriad patterns and companies.

Thanks, All!

My favorite fabric info book is More Fabric Savvy by Sandra Betzina. In the back, there is a page on linings.

This is what I read, "Hydrofil: Has a smooth taffeta-like surface. Makes a terrific lining for outerwear since it breathes, wicks moisture to the outside, keeping you dry and comfortable. Machine washable." I have never heard of hydrofil before and have no idea if it would, indeed, be good for your project, but I liked the properties.

The book also says this, "Nylon tricot: Slips are usually made in this fabric. Also makes an excellent lining for knits or bathing suits." I have used nylon tricot before, but have not thought of using it for lining. Interesting.

I wish you the best of luck finding your lining.
