The Fabric Maverick says.... Visualize and plan your way to a great quilt!
I love fabric! I know that this does not come as a surprise to anyone. I love home decor! I love apparel! I am dotty for quilting fabric! Like most of us, I have trouble visualizing how it will look. Magazines do a great job showing quilts in those collections we love. They should -that is their job!
I have done some hunting around and found several collections featured in recent quilting magazines:
Nuts & Robolts from P& B Textiles. Robots are hot! This quilt is from Easy Quilts. This is quite easy to assemble. There is also a free download from P&B Textiles. This panel is extremely easy to work with. You may use the panel as is or cut it apart to reassemble as they did in the Easy Quilt magazine.
This is the free download quilt:
Moda's Gypsy Rose is featured in the Fons & Porter Magazine. I would never have thought to combine these colors!
This month's issue of American Patchwork and Quilting features Robin Pandolph's new collection of Sumptuous Living. If you want to try your hand at applique this is a great way to start.
Manufacturers are terrfic resources for ideas and free projects. These are just a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing!
By the way, I have a limited number of free project sheets for
Rocket Scientist
Cherry Picked
Cambridge Square
If you would like a free project sheet for one of these groups, please email your name and address to victoria@fabric.com. She handles all my paper work. I will be happy to send it as long as supplies last.
