Little Hip Skirt "patchwork" 1b598 viewsI created this skirt using the little hip skirt pattern. I randomly cut up the pattern, used 4 coordinating corduroy fabrics and then pieced it all back together. I created trim for the hem using navy corduroy cut on the bias. I had a lot of fun creating this skirt!

VOTE - Fall Skirt-Front983 viewsThis Cute Skirt pattern has 2 layers. On top is a black lace fabric over a orange faux suede. Next, I reversed applique free form oval shapes by stitching the shape and cutting out the lace fabric.

Cute Skirt Goes to Work830 viewsThis is the basic 8-panel skirt with a twist. The panels were laid out on the bias to give a subtle herringbone weave look to this striped cotton fabric.

VOTE - Raspberry Flounce901 viewsI used the basic Cute Skirt pattern with a Raspberry Rayon. For the gores, I used a black lace and made them smaller than what the pattern had.

VOTE - Velvet Cute Skirt1377 viewsThis is a skirt made from strechy black velvet with a snakeskin onlay print from fabric.com, and the pattern is Cute Skirts. I modified it so that the hem would hang longer in the back, so I could wear my favorite boots and a jacket I made from microsuede. I draped the skirt to follow the line of the jacket, and since it's higher in the front it doesn't catch on the bootlacing. So this skirt turned out to be very versatile, not only does it work with the outfit I designed it for, it also looks good with a lot of tops and heels. I gathered a lot of the fullness in the back of the skirt with thick short elastic to give it the feeling of a bustle skirt without the bulk and silliness of a real bustle, but it adds swing when you walk. I'm really enjoying this skirt, and I recommend the pattern as easy for beginners and fun to adapt for more advanced designers!
