Hello! I love to make baby blankets. But I'm having a problem with the cormers when it's a lined blanket with a trim between the 2 fabrics. Usually the trim gets caught and when I turn the blanket right side out, the trim looks messy, making me rip and re-try (sometimes many times).
Can anyone help me make neat, beautiful corners?? Thank you!! |

Have you tried basting the trim to the right side of one of the fabrics (within the seam allowance). Also, try using a temporary glue (glue stick?) to keep that trim in place so it doesn't move around as you stitch the perimeter of the blanket. Hope this helps.

I like to use binding around the whole quilt , then I don't have to turn it at all.

Most the time on baby blankets I have rounded corners, as sometime a pointed corner can "poke" you when flipping the blanket around. I just feel it is safer and softer for a baby and eliminates mitering and easing around a sharp corner.

Thank you!
I hadn't thought about rounding the corners. I have always made them square. I have a new blanket pending, so I'll try it. |

while on the subject of blanket binding, I want to make a double layer fleece baby blanket with satin binding. I have never tried this. Is 2 layers of fleece too much for the binding? what is a good way to prevent the shifting/rippling effect? Thanks
